Which was actually what I originally came on LJ to post!
And it deserves its own entry.

It's eleven minutes long, with a thirty second advertisement, and DAVID TENNANT, and there's maybe four lines total in the whole thing, and it still kind of made my day/evening a little bit.

| HEAR MY WORDS AND DESPAIR! |
[21 Dec 2009|05:58pm] |
Sorry for the double post, but I think this is WIN enough to share:
So, last night we were over at Wife's parents for her birthday dinner, which they made homemade pizza. Yum.
Anyway, Dad-in-law and Brother-in-law were watching the Packers/Steelers game (of which they are absurdly huge Cheeseheads) and it was, admittedly, very tense. Brother kept shouting at the screen, standing up, pacing, stomping feet, etc et all out of frustration or excitement, especially throughout the last quarter.
Eventually, the Packers got a lead of 6.
I smiled, decided to be obstinate, and turned to the two Gentlemen and said, "You know that the Steelers will win by one point, right?"
Of course, I got the glare of Doom, but I continued to smile throughout the rest of the dwindling minutes.
AT THE :00 MARK, the Steelers got a touchdown which tied the game and were granted their kick, getting them the extra point.
37-36.
BOO-YAH.
THE PROPHET HAS SPOKEN.
Needless to say, they didn't talk to me much the rest of the night.

| This priest needs to go back to seminary... |

As per this article, it is apparently okay for the poor and needy to steal from large corporations because God loves the poor more than the rich.
In his own words:
'My advice, as a Christian priest, is to shoplift. I do not offer such advice because I think that stealing is a good thing, or because I think it is harmless, for it is neither. 'I would ask that they do not steal from small family businesses, but from large national businesses, knowing that the costs are ultimately passed on to the rest of us in the form of higher prices. 'I would ask them not to take any more than they need, for any longer than they need. 'I offer the advice with a heavy heart and wish society would recognise that bureaucratic ineptitude and systematic delay has created an invitation and incentive to crime for people struggling to cope.' 'My advice does not contradict the Bible's eighth commandment because God's love for the poor and despised outweighs the property rights of the rich. 'Let my words not be misrepresented as a simplistic call for people to shoplift. The observation that shoplifting is the best option that some people are left with is a grim indictment of who we are. 'Rather, this is a call for our society no longer to treat its most vulnerable people with indifference and contempt. Providing inadequate or clumsy social support is monumental, catastrophic folly.'
ORLY?
Stealing is stealing is stealing. Whether you're greedy and covetous or absolutely desperate. God established a Law with no loopholes. DO NOT TAKE from another. DO NOT STEAL. There was no annotated clause which read "unless you're taking from those big nasty rich people".
Seriously. Where is his bishop on this issue? He should be sacked for preaching a message so anti-Christ in nature.
